Anxiety, and Panic Attacks, are your friends.

Updated: Aug 9, 2023

Panic attacks started to creep in after the first of two-emergency c-sections aaaages ago. But back then, I didn't know that's what was happening. I knew very little about anxiety or PTSD. I was usually confident, strong, and, as my Mum used to say, a very capable girl.

Now 27 years on, and thousands of hours and dollars later, I've come to understand acute anxiety and how to protect my sensitive soul from storing stress until I create a shit show of naturally produced lifesaving get-the-hell-out-of-here chemicals.

Notice I used the term' panic attacks, not 'my panic attacks.'

One of the most significant changes you can make is to stop referring to PA or anxiety as 'my'. Instead, you could try saying something like, 'I'm feeling anxious'. And then allow the feeling.

"I'm feeling anxious, and that's okay. How can I serve myself right now?"

Remember, anxiety is a normal emotion and often healthy. However, when we start to fear, feeling anxious, and focus on the fear, it can begin to feel like it's controlling our life.

There are so many anxiety levels, so if you think it has a hold on you negatively, it's time to lean in and do some healing work.

With the right strategies and tools, you can learn to manage anxiety and prevent it from controlling your life. And you may open the door to a whole new you, free to feel the fear and do it anyway. Or, like me, laugh at the proof of yourself enjoying more of your life.
