The Power of Self-Reflection

I love self-reflection. It’s powerful, directional, and motivating. For me, it’s a constant practice; I do it with my boys every time we’re together. We talk about highlights, lessons, and moments that bring joy or challenge. It’s such a simple ritual, yet it shapes the way I show up and feel in the world.

I know not everyone does this, or even wants to, and that has been a deep source of frustration for me. I see how powerful it can be, how a little noticing can shift energy, clarity, and direction.

I also notice a pattern in myself: I have a deep desire to help everyone. I see their pain points, their struggles, and the easy ways to build a healthier life or business. I offer advice, support, and ideas, sometimes before they’re even asked for. Over the years, I’ve realised that this habit doesn’t always serve me, or them.

So in 2026, I want to let go of that need to serve everyone I meet. Instead, I will focus on those who choose to work with me or who ask for guidance. After almost 10 years of running my women’s group, HERA, I’m still learning how to help women shine a light on themselves. That is a practice I will continue in 2026, finding new ways to inspire, support, and empower those who are ready and willing to receive it.

Reflection isn’t about New Year’s resolutions. It’s about noticing patterns, letting go of what no longer serves you, and redirecting your energy toward what truly matters.

Even a few minutes of reflection can shift your focus, strengthen your boundaries, and help you step into the new year with clarity, joy, and presence.

A few of My Reflections

Looking into 2026, I want to focus on:

  • Continue quality time with my family and dogs.

  • Keeping my no-alcohol and intermittent fasting habits in the week

  • Giving those who choose to work with me my best, while honouring myself

  • Remembering that what I want for others isn’t my business

  • Surrounding myself with expansive hearts, people committed to growth, contribution, and inspiration

  • Continue to take a long weekend away every other month.
